In September 2010, the Young Leaders in Affordable Housing (YLAH) was integrated into the fabric of the National Housing Conference (NHC). A dynamic membership network comprised of young professionals and students under the age of 35* interested in gaining greater exposure to professional and leadership opportunities in the affordable housing industry, YLAH is committed to advancing the goal of providing housing to low- and moderate-income individuals and families through sound community revitalization policies and programs on a nationwide scale.
YLAH currently has more than 150 dues-paying members. Through leadership opportunities, professional development and networking, educational programs, conference events, social activities and more, YLAH members are thoughtfully engaged and encouraged to actively participate in the network. YLAH activities and programs will introduce members to a variety of housing industry topics, which may complement the work they are performing in their career, or lead to greater exposure to affordable housing issues, leaders and experts.
*The Executive Committee of the Young Leaders in Affordable Housing will review applicants between 35 and 40 years of age seeking membership on a case-by-case basis.
