Launch of HousingPolicy.org and Release of the Center’s Popular Annual Study Paycheck to Paycheck
NHC and the Center will officially launch HousingPolicy.org, which focuses on the broad range of housing solutions available at the state and local level that can make a real difference in communities. In coordination with the launch, the Center’s annual study Paycheck to Paycheck: Wages and the Cost of Housing in America, provided in online, interactive database format, will be released. Paycheck to Paycheck compares the latest data on the cost of owning and renting a home with the wages for more than 60 occupations in over 200 U.S. metropolitan areas.

Overview of High-Impact State and Local Housing Policies — As the housing challenges facing working families have increased, states and localities have responded with an ever-expanding range of new housing solutions. What key state and local policies can assist in improving housing outcomes for low- to moderate-income working families? How can state and local leaders learn more about innovative housing policies through the new online guide HousingPolicy.org?
In this Expert Chat, KnowledgePlex teams up with the NHC and the Center to answer these questions and more. Specifically, this online workshop will provide an overview of the policies and strategies covered by HousingPolicy.org.

These questions will be answered when NHC and the Center team up again with KnowlegePlex for this second online workshop focused on how to put individual housing policy tools together to form an effective and comprehensive housing strategy.

Developing Comprehensive and Effective State and Local Housing Strategies: Lessons from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia — Recognized affordable housing experts from Washington, DC, Montgomery County, Maryland, and Fairfax County, Virginia, will provide insight into how those communities developed comprehensive local housing strategies to expand the availability of homes affordable to low- and moderate-income working families.
