NHC regional forums are designed to help address specific policy challenges and identify related solutions at the state and local levels.

Focused on a range of topics – such as employer-assisted housing, rental housing preservation and more – these forums help policymakers, practitioners, local leaders and others implement strategies to address both current and long-term housing needs within their communities.

Please see below for more information on upcoming and past regional forums.

2010 Regional Forums

Partners in Innovation Forums

The Partners in Innovation Forum Series was launched in April 2010. NHC, with support from the Center for Housing Policy, is working closely with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Foundation’s designated 2009 State and Local Housing Preservation Leader Awardees to plan and execute the forums. The events will build on the work of the selected awardees and help strengthen preservation efforts throughout their respective regions. Registration and agenda details are posted to the NHC Web site as they become available.

Bring Workers Home
Forums

NHC and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), an NHC Housing Leadership Support Program member, are partnering on a new series of four Bring Workers Home Regional Policy Forums addressing workforce housing. These forums will take place throughout 2010 in the following locations:

Past Regional Forums

In late 2009, NHC partnered with the National Association of REALTORS®, an NHC Housing Leadership Support Program Partner, to present two regional Bring Workers Home forums focused on employer-assisted housing (EAH) – a proven tool that helps attract and retain workers in an area, benefitting employers, employees and communities as a whole. Each event offered regional best practices for implementing EAH policies, as well as an additional Home from Work™ Class designed for real estate professionals.
